We’re Martijn, Maartje & our little gastronome-in-training, Oscar: a little family on a mission to uncover the most memorable experiences of restaurants, vineyards, and accommodations around the world. We’re the kind of people that plan their trips around the food and wines they want to taste - and we bet you are too.

With a list of over 100 visited Michelin-starred restaurants, WSET sommelier credentials (Academie voor Gastronomie), and a background in professional tasting (Martijn spent over a decade at Heineken’s tasting panel), we bring trained taste buds and an honest perspective to every experience we share.

Meet the epicures


  • When Maartje was asked as a child what she wanted to be when she would grew up, she confidentially answered: ‘food connoisseur’ (in Dutch: fijnproever).

    Maartje (32) always had a great passion for food and wine. She loves to travel the world, finding interesting culinary experiences in and way out of her comfort zone.

    Maartje is WSET sommelier and has years of experience as a professional taster. She is efficient, clear and has a programatic approach.

    Her favorite restaurant is Tim Raue and her favorite grape is the Viognier.


  • Martijn (36) is WSET sommelier and has been a professional taster in the renown taste descriptive panel of Heineken for over a decade. Furthermore, he has years of experience in restaurant tasting visits.

    With a sublime eye for detail, Martijn is known for his accurate and precise wordings to describe his findings.

    His favorite restaurant is Hisa Franko and his favorite grape is the Gewürztraminer.
